This fast track project's primary objective was to relocate the client's existing store to a more prominent position within the centrally located enclosed avenue at Gunwharf, whilst utilising retained fixtures where possible to create a cost-efficient space. Garenne, alongside the brand, also worked to a tight timeline set out by centre management to achieve completion within a 15-day period from site access to the store opening for trade.
The proposed retail space, following the strip out of the previous tenants display system, retained many of the existing elements, such as life safety, mechanical and electrical, sprinkler, ceilings, and flooring. The rear of the store required the addition of fitting rooms and extension of the existing lighting system. The store also required wall preparation prior to existing fixtures being migrated into the new retail space, with all customer areas decorated and new systems for tagging and people counter installed, new internal and external signage and refurbishment of retained cash desk.
The project has served as a blueprint for further fast track projects to enable Lacoste to react to the ever changing face of retail, whilst achieving customer and brand expectations.
