The circumstances in which we now find our business operating in has brought new challenges for us all and of our clients. Most of our clients are trying to find ways of preserving their business for the future. On the other hand, some retailers are using this time to prepare for reopening.
One such retailer is Uniqlo, they have asked us to replace service till modules in all of their 15 UK stores to enable them to introduce RFID to their operations. RFID or Radio Frequency Identification is a new security label which is sewn into every garment. The new labels are unseen but track the garment from when it leaves the factory of origin until it is paid for at the till when it is deactivated.
As well as making the transaction at the store far more efficient it also means every garment can be identified anywhere in the world at the touch of a button. This is a system which we will begin to see more and more in retail stores across the globe as it reduces physical cost and also queues when paying for goods in store. This is all aimed at improving the customer experience in store. This will account of two thirds of store cash desk capacity as there is always need for the human element thankfully.
